Job Description
Assemble components from parts provided and/or made by the Bench Hand, Tool Makers or Machine Operators. Assist Tool Makers in their daily functions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Obtain prints and other directions from the Foreman
- Follow prints to assemble components or finished Tools
- Reports nonconforming parts or components to Foreman
- Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining
- Uses hand tools and machinery to make parts for assembling tooling
- Lifts machine parts and components. Positions and secures them for assembly
- Verifies dimensions, alignment and clearances
- Follow safety procedures
- Has knowledge of the Quality System being used
Requirements
- Formal education and/or equivalent experience in the Tooling Industry
- Ability to set up and operate metal cutting and/or removal machines
- Ability to read mechanical blue prints
- Experience working with metal, tools and machinery for metal fabrication
- Ability to perform basic shop math
